Days 4, 5 and 6/ Dias 4,5 y 6

Despite the strong winds and the rain on Saturday evening, I had an unforgettable weekend because of the good company. I loved to be again with friends that I met in London and who have returned to their country, not noticing the distance. And they were patient enough to go wherever I wanted to go so we visited Asakusa, ate monyaki, we took a pikura ( photo booth picture where the machine already lightens, smoothes and puts you make up and bright eyes, like cartoons ), went to karaoke…

That was Saturday only. Because of the weather we had to go back home earlier. I stayed at Asako’s house, which is a 100% typical Japanese house with tatami floor, sliding doors ,small table where you have to eat seated on the floor…Asako’s family was very kind  even though I barely could speak the language, and her mum made the effort to speak with me.

On Sunday the wing was strong but it was sunny, so we went to Ebisu Garden Place, a place which you rarely fin don a guide book, and unless you live in Tokyo , or you like beer (Ebisu Beer ), or you watch japanese series  Hana Yori Dango, it doesn’t have any meaning. But as a great Hana Yori Dango fan, that’s the place were the main characters meet so we went there to take the picture!!

We ate on that zone, after we went to Shibuya, where is the world’s busiest crossing, we walked around, reached the fashion district Harajuku where we ate the Harajuku crepe, which is a crepe shaped as a cone and filled up with lots of delicious things…Yummy!!! After that we got into a very cute shop with good related to cartoons as Hello Kitty, Ghibli studios, Snoopy, etc etc I wanted to buy almost everything!

After that I went back to Okazaki, very happy and a bit sad that those friends are not that easy to meet anymore…But hey, I might still meet them on my last night in Japan, because I will stay in Tokyo.

Today, Monday, I had 5 hours of class. I was a bit slow because I felt tired and because is 5 hours of listening and speaking Japanese, so I had a peaceful evening, did my homework and the laundry.

Japon ,dias 2 y 3/ Japan, days 2 and 3

Thursday was the day to start the course. They gave us a talk in Japanese which I understood almost completely, that made me feel so proud! We had to introduce ourselves saying our name, where are we coming from and hobbies. After that, we did the placement test, interview in Japanese included, and as the wether was good, I went for a walk. Some people proposed to go to Okazaki´s castle since there was a festival with food stalls , so we walked for about one hour! Most of the food at Japanese festivals is something fried or something in a stick, things you couldn´t imagine lol

We arrived late to the residence because we stayed drinking and talking under the sakura.

Today was the first day of class, half a day, and I like my course because we talk all time. We learn some grammar and instead of written activites you learn the things talking. And as we finished by noon, I was thinking and thinking and decided to do something a bit crazy as there was sunshine and I have a paid train pass, so I went to try to see Mt Fuji. At this time of the year is a bit complicated to see , because clouds can cover the top but when I arrived the only thing I could see was the top. But I saw it!!! I bought some souvenirs and returned to Okazaki.

Quizá porque llevo años preparándome, he visto series, he leído…

I still feel as this was something natural, as if I was living here all my life. I still cannot believe anything, is as if I was in London or Murcia,  I am taking things easily. Maybe it´s because I´ve been preparing myself for this trip for many years, I´ve watched series, I´ve read… But im sure I will get excited this weekend,..Im going to Tokyo and I will meet my friends whom I haven´t  met for a long time! I´m sure I will take tons of pictures!
Pasad un buen fin de semana!

Japan Diary Day 1/ Diario de Japon dia 1

The first part of the trip was stressful because the plane was half an hour delayed to take off and I thought I wouldn´t make it for my connection. As it was the same company, a man guided us through Rome´s airport until the boarding gate.

My flight-mates were an english guy and a japanese girl, and we had a good time together. After lucnh I slept about 3 hours and after I watched some movies. When we landed, I found out that the Spanish guy I was talking to I met him on my second trip to London, whn Pepi took me to a house party, what a coincidence! It was raining in Tokyo so I cancelled my original plan of wandering around for a couple of hours just to see something more than train stations and took the high speed train to Nagoya. Mt Fuji can be seen when you are half of the way but the clouds were too low and thick so I wasn´t lucky.

I took my last train to Okazaki, where my school is, and after signing papers and unpack in the room, I went for a walk to explore the area. There is a lake with cherry trees in blossom nearby, so I took some pictures. Then I wandered through the streets and reached a small shopping centre where I discovered a big dvd, book, cd shop with a big second hand section where I´ve already located some things I will buy on my  last week, once I know how much money I space I have left.

I explored the supermarket and bought a few things just to survive that evening and today, until I explore again.

Then I ate something and wen to sleep by 8pm. My room is shared but I´m the only one at the moment, and the residence is very quiet.

I find myself at ease, as if it was that easy to be in Japan, to see cherry blossoms, signs in Japanese, be the non-japanese minority, I don´t know…it´s like it was the most natural thing to be here. Well, truth is I´ve been thinking about this most of my life, but I thought I will cry at the beginning, because of exicetement!
